~~Purpose: To confirm the social benefits model of sports city (SBSC) in Chon Buri province.
Methods: 383 samples were multi-stage random sampling from 1.3 million population in Chon Buri, which proportionally ration 25 items of the SBSC scales. The questionnaire of SBSC perceptions was developed from 5 factors as follows: Community physical and mental health; Economic development and sustainability; Community development, social capital and active citizenship; Crime reduction and community safety; and Education and employment. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used for statistical analysis.
Results: The SBSC model in Chon Buri provided a good fit (CFI = 0.990). The highest loading factors were Education and employment (0.903) followed by Community physical and mental health (0.894), Community development, social capital, and active citizenship (0.893) respectively. The least two factors were Economic development and sustainability and Crime reduction and community safety (0.890).
Conclusion: The SBSC model from this study is consistent with empirical data. Business entrepreneur and policy administrator could adopt this evidence for related-sport city management decision making.
